What is DeskBand?
DeskBand is a term to describe generic toolbars that enhance browsers such as Internet Explorer. Many companies deploy deskbands such as Google, Yahoo or MSN. The term deskband is a technical term for any type of BHO (browser helper object) for enhancing the desktop for the Internet experience. And to that end, www.DeskBand.com was born for the technology revolution of deskbands in Internet Explorer.

What can toolbars do?
Generic toolbars are commonly used for wrapping enhancements such as popup stoppers and search engine links. More common is the use of toolbars for marketing and sales efforts by adding hyperlinks (short cuts) to the Internet experience. But at www.DeskBand.com , we are poised to take toolbars for Internet Explorer to new heights.

Why is www.DeskBand.com better?
First, our toolbars have more features, more reliability, and the highest performance. As important, these technologies are designed in such a way as to give any business the framework and foundation for designing their own toolbar or deskbands.

The Market:
IP-C is speculating and has done extensive market research that the browser will become the central part of PC users productivity, perception, and focus. The underlying operating system, the PC itself will become less and less important. Adjunct software such as Outlook will eventually be replaced as browsers become more robust. Therefore, we have designed the toolbar to turn the browser into the central tool and point of perception for the Internet user. These tools and components assume the browser will even take over the desktop and palm completely.

The Future: "all browser toolbars"
Currently this deskband is designed for deployment on IE only. However, we have successfully created a prototype of a deskband that works on all browsers, this includes IE, FireFox, Netscape, AOL and other Win32 based browsers. This "all browser" deskband has one installation package and one executable, yet runs on all Win32 browsers including old browsers that do not support deskbands. How? Internals:
Deskband toolbar is not just a toolbar. It is an extensive Windows based service that continues to run even after all browsers are closed. The toolbar itself only becomes a gateway to the enhanced system features described below.

Directory synchronizer (take a local directory and synchronize with a directory on a remote server using http/ftp/samba), includes drag and drop.

Distributed Toolbars

Toolbar can search and locate each other for a peer to peer connection. Once this hierarchy is established, toolbar components and feature can replicate across an entire enterprise network.
